Jam gacor: is there a time of day when slots pay more?

No. We split 3,959,346 lab spins into the 24 hours of the day (WIB). Every hour pays within chance of the average; only 1 hour(s) stray slightly, about as many as randomness produces anyway. Free spins and ×100 wins are flat across the day too.

What is "jam gacor"?

"Jam gacor" (Indonesian for a "hot hour") is the belief that slots pay more at certain times, such as midnight or 20:00–22:00. Every day, lists of "today's hot hours" circulate for different providers, often with different times.

The question is simple and testable: if a hot hour existed, spins in it should pay more, trigger free spins more often, or produce big wins more often. We have millions of spins recorded with their time. So we just count.

How did we test it?

We took 3,959,346 spins from the lab archive (3 days, 112 games) and grouped them by hour in WIB (UTC+7), 00:00 to 23:00. Each spin is compared with its own game's habit: if a game returns 96% on average, that is "normal" for a spin of that game.

The result is one number per hour: actual divided by normal. 1.00 means the hour was exactly as usual; 1.10 means it paid 10% more. Each number has a range of chance: how far it can move through randomness alone.

The result: does any hour pay more?

There is no hot hour. Every hour clusters around the normal line. The "best" hour (13:00, +6.6%) and the "worst" (07:00, −3.7%) differ only as much as chance can produce. 1 hour(s) stray slightly outside their range, which is exactly what to expect: with a 95% range, about 1.2 of 24 hours will by chance. Tomorrow it will be a different hour.

What would the chart look like if a hot hour existed?

A test is only useful if it can catch what it is looking for. So we made a fake example: exactly the same data, but with the payout at 19:00–22:59 raised by 15%. That is the "hot hour" the lists promise.

MADE-UP EXAMPLE: if 19:00–22:59 really were hot

Fake data, not a lab result. The four pink hours were boosted; every one jumps well clear of its range of chance (even the lowest is +13.3%). The real chart above has no jump like this.

Compare the two charts. If a hot hour existed, even one far weaker than 15%, this measurement would see it. The real chart is flat. Not because the measurement is blind, but because there is nothing to see.

What about free spins and big wins?

Maybe a hot hour does not pay more but triggers free spins more often? Or gives big wins more often? We tested both the same way.

If it doesn't exist, why do hot-hour lists keep spreading?

Because a hot hour is easy to believe and easy to produce. Anyone who once won big at 21:00 remembers the time, and those who lost at the same hour do not write lists. With thousands of players, someone always wins at any hour.

And a hot-hour list is content that can be remade every day without any data, which people search for every day. That is a business, not a measurement. We have never seen a list that says how many spins it tested or how wide its range of chance is.

Is a slot ever due? → · Today in the lab →

Is real money different?

We measure the official demos, not real money, so we cannot directly prove what happens at a casino. But the labs that test slot random number generators (RNGs) check exactly this: that outcomes cannot be predicted from anything, including the time.

And demos are not a more "honest" sample than real money: in our lab some providers' demos are actually far looser. If a hot hour existed anywhere, the demo would be the easiest place to see it, and there is none here either.

Frequently asked questions

What time do slots pay the most?

None. Of the 3,959,346 spins we split by hour, every hour pays within chance of the average.

Is the midnight hot hour real?

Not by our data. 00:00 to 03:00 sit around the normal line like every other hour.

Why do some hours look better?

Chance. With 24 hours and a 95% range, about one will stray by accident. In our data 1 did, and which one strays changes from day to day.

Is the hot hour different for each provider?

The lists often say so, but we normalise each game against itself, so provider differences hide nothing. No hour stands out.

Are free spins more frequent at certain hours?

No. We tested free-spin frequency by hour the same way, and it is flat.

What if the hot hour exists only with real money?

We cannot measure real money directly. But slot RNG testing checks that outcomes do not depend on anything, including time.

How can I check this myself?

Download our daily spin archive, group it by hour (WIB = UTC+7), and compare the average win.
